Christmas tree adventures

Thursday was the big day we ventured out to get our very own Christmas tree! We picked the kids up an hour early from school so we could make it before dark. Then, off to Cranston's tree farm in Ashfield. Out of the many tree farms in the area, this one is our favorite. We "discovered" it 2 years ago (and the picture from there made it onto last years Christmas card!), in perfect super snowy weather conditions. Picture perfect, the people were fantastic, the drive there is beautiful, and the farm is great. No noisy chainsaws, you just pick a good old fashioned handsaw and a yardstick and start the search.

Unfortunately we had to blow off our visit last year and go elsewhere, because there had been some big bad ice storm, so this year we were extra excited to go back.

And we even had plenty of snow again. Enough for Quintin to have a good struggle trying to move around while sinking thigh deep into the snow and tripping all over the place. (to his delight!).

We found the perfect tree, froze our butts off because it was soooo cold and windy, the kids belly sledded down the hill. Then we went inside to warm up.

On the way home, we stopped by Dunkin donuts for some coffee and hot cocoa (with lack of something cozier along the way).

The tree is now sitting in our room, looking pretty with vintage ornaments i "found" on Ebay.

Find the pics here or click on the picture.
