Goodbye dear Mazda!

How is it that it's always so hard to let go of an old car?

Today was the day we had to say goodbye to our dear trusted little Mazda. The car that got Kelvin to work countless times, That got the kids to school, and got us to the hospital when Quintin was about to be born.

The car that took us on beautiful fall road trips in the mountains, that took us to the beach & lake on hot days, and onto the mount Skinner. It drove us safely back home from grocery shopping in a snowstorm when other cars couldn't make it back. And it took us to Ikea many times, and even managed to fit all the stuff we got, against all odds. It waited at the airport for us while we were on vacation in Holland, and then somehow fit all of out junk, even when people around us were watching thinking it would never fit.

Stickers have been stuck on it's windows by the kids, chicken nuggets have been dropped and found 2 weeks later under the seats. We've even been tailgated and followed in the highway by a scary idiot once, and we've been crashed into even but, the Mazda has never given up on us.

It has been completely used up by us, by Kelvin taking it to work. You wouldn't tell by looking at it, but it has so many miles on it, and hardly drives. We were able to still sell it to Kelvin's co worker, who is going to take it to Africa and fix it up there, perhaps put a new engine in it, so that it'll be able to go strong again for many years.

The kids were a bit sad about the Mazda going, so we took a picture of them with it. (Quinn was sleeping.)

Thanks for everything little red Mazda! Enjoy your African adventure! :o)
