For the longest time we've been wanting to change around the shrubs in the front yard around the house. Kelvin had started getting rid of the monstrous green walls at our front door, but since we couldn't replace them with anything yet, we left it for now.
All bushes were way overgrown, to close to the house and all.
And then the grass in the front yard. It drove Kel nuts. He was obsessed with it, because, it was green, but it was weed, not grass.
So, i decided to finally do something about it. It started with changing the grass at the front and maybe the bushes there, but i figured why not do the whole thing.
So this was what it looked like before:
So this past week the yard men have been busy , and this is what it looks like so far:
Now mind you, many of these shrubs are still little and will get taller, of course not as big as the previous ones, the plants will grow wider, and the grass has not been fixed yet. My little herb garden upfront was already there. Now that looks rather messy (weeds)..need to work on that, but i just have no time!
I keep buying plants and then never have time to plant them. Thankfully the yard guys were nice enough to plant my rosebush for me into the new bed. That's one down!
Oh, and in the fall we'll probably add some trees to the front lawn as well. There used to be some before we moved in, but they died, and it has always looked rather naked, especially since we live on a corner.

And well, painting my doors, fixing the front step, are many more things on the list. It's a slow process but it's going..
I think Kel will be happy with the results. :)
