Lucky rabbit's foot

Despite the Netherlands Brazil game being on Friday, we decided to take a road trip to mt Greylock. We left when the game had just started, and since Brazil had scored a goal already,I was a bit nervous to watch anyway.

So, after filling the cooler, we drove up the I91 first to Greenfield, and then went onto the Mohawk trail. Its such a fun drive to take sometimes,it almost takes you back in time. The road is filled with old glory gift shops, heavily decorated with Indian decor and souvenirs.

We made sure to make many stops, the first one being the gift shop with a huge Indian op front and wooden tee pees around.

The kids got pretty excited with all the nicknacks for sale. They even sold bear claws and snake heads on necklaces, but we went for a rabbit's foot for each of the kids which they picked out themselves by the way. Raul & Robin each chose a white one, and Quinn a very natural looking grass green one. :-) (they're supposed to bring good luck)

As we went along, we saw 2 deer frolicking together lovingly in a field beside the road, it was so cute, they actually looked like they were in love. (now doesn't that sound like I made that up? )

We stopped for some coffee in north Adams and then went on to mount Greylock. We had some lunch in the grass in front of the visitors center and the kids rolled down the hills a bit.

The ride up was gorgeous, it was such a sunny and clear day and the air was so fresh.

We spent about an hour on summit, walking around, climbing the tower and such. It was hard to leave because the weather was just so great.

We decided to drive back the same way we came, since it was getting later already, and to the kids delight, we stopped by Mc Donalds for dinner in north Adams and we ate it up on the lookout platform at the hairpin turn.

The whole day, Robin had been going on and on about this white rabbit pelt she had seen at the gift shop, that she wanted badly to match her foot.

The kids had behaved extremely well though, especially since they had barely touched their video games, so we stopped by the Indian shop one more time and got a few more unethical souvenirs.

Robin got her rabbit pelt, Raul a mod ring and ammo for the pony boy toy pistol he got a the vintage shop the other day, and Quinn got a raccoon tail "Davy Crockett " hat and an old fashioned wooden cork pop toy rifle.

The kids were overjoyed, and so we we, after having such a great day.

when we got home, they played outside with their stuff some more (Raul being infatuated with his "working" pistol), and went to bed happy after.

To top it off, we found out then Holland had beaten Brazil 2-1! These rabbit's feet must be working!

Oh wait, did I forget to warn you beforehand that this road trip report was dripping with glee? It almost seems like i lied, and the kids actually beat each other's brain in in the car, but no really, I'm not lying! :-D
