Memorial day

Last weekend was Memorial day weekend.
We had a BBQ at the neighbours on Sunday, but on the holiday itself, Kel was off so that was great. First of all, we got to sleep in until 9.30 am!!
This is unheard of, the alarm always rings, every morning. If it isn't because of school, then it is because Kel has to go to work. Free mornings do not exist. But today it did. And as luck would have it, the kids were still super exhausted from the party the day before. You know, the ran around and swam outside until it got dark. Raul was up at 7.00 but he just watched the science channel until we all woke up. Cutie pie! So, I got up at 9.30, got Raul some breakfast and made coffee for Kel and me. At around 10.00 Robin and Quinn woke up too, so we took it easy the rest of the morning.
The weather was wonderful so that was a great! (hard to imagine now, it's cold and dreary..) so we decided to check out Mt Tom so the kids could play in the stream a bit and cool off. It was packed with huge families, pick nicking, so we skipped the stream where it's a bit less woodsy and went to a woodsier one. Quiet, more beautiful, but, we got completely eaten alive by mosquito's! So we didn't stay too long, but still had fun.
When we got home, we got grillin and hung around in the backyard.
Then we decided to go on an after dinner walk in Northampton on the Norwottuck rail trail (or bike bridge as we call it). We got back to the car when it was almost dark. The kids once again were exhausted but very satisfied with the day. And so were we. :-)
