Chronicles of me: double fun!

The Granby charter days are here! And the strawberries at Dickinson's are ripe!

So we decided to pick strawberries first, and then go to the fair afterwards.

The strawberries made for a great dessert. As you might guess, especially Quinn was having a great time, eating more strawberries than he picked.

When we had a nice box full, and the farm closed, we headed over to Dufresne park where the Granby charter days are held each year. The kids were really super excited. See for yourself in the videos below this post. :-D

The kids could barely contain themselves when we got to the fair. You would think we kept them locked up in cages all their lives or something. We walked around first to see what was there. They got to pet cute animals. There was even a wildlife show with an extremely cheesy guy that laughed at his own jokes. It was so sad it was funny. It did turn out to be a bit entertaining and interesting though. The kids got to see a snake, armadillo, alligator, turkey vulture, an owl, several turtles and a hawk.

After the show, we went for some rides. Raul & Robin went in the "yoyo" while Kel took Quinn in the Ferris wheel. There was also a tiny roller coaster. We thought it might be fun for Quinn but thought someone should join him. Raul volunteered, making sure we knew "he was not going to enjoy it", because after all, it's a ride for babies right?

Time for a snack..I was really hoping to find real cotton candy on a stick. I've purposely never gotten them cotton candy before because I thought their first should be on a stick and not in a bag. Unfortunately, that kind seems very hard to come by, so we went for the bagged but fresh version. Much to the glee of the kids. They were jumping up and down when this picture was taken.

Robin decided she didn't like cotton candy, it kind of freaked her out, so there was more for the boys. We headed over to the bonfire which was huge . Made for a good warm up. That is untill the firemen started spraying a bit too much water, it was like rain. They were trying to control the flying ambers. The kids loved it though so they ran around in the water.

We went for a few more rides and then finished up the night with a game. After all, a visit to the fair isn't complete without a hideously colored synthetic stuffed animal from China ;-).

Quinn picked a fluorescent green turtle, and Raul and Robin some pretty acceptable looking doggies. Raul's dog has enormous paws, one much bigger than the other, but Raul says that's what he loves most about him.

After one last ride, it really was time to go home. When we got to the car, the scent of strawberries greeted us, and we learned it was 10.00 pm already!

Everyone was in bed by 10.30 and needless to say, they fell asleep shortly thereafter.
