A beautiful beach day..in April!

Wow, we've had some crazy weather this past week! It's been like June in April.

Most of the week was sunny and in the mid to upper 70's, with the weather being a record 90 degrees on Wednesday! (32 Celsius!).




So, being that wednesday was going to be so warm, it just seemed silly to have the kids go to school. So we let them play hooky and we went to the beach instead!

It was a bit cooler there, but still very warm. The water was still too cold for swimming of course (though Robin did jump in a few times!) but we had so much fun!



First we had lunch on one side of the beach (Rocky neck state park), then we hung out on the other side. And for dinner, we picked up some Subway meatball subs in Old Saybrook and ate them at the town beach there.

I never thought we'd have our first beach day in April! Let alone the first week of April!
