I've wanted one for so long but somehow we never got around to it. So, we went ahead and just got one at Ikea.
Robin spent the day at Isla's, to have more space in the car, so we took just the boys. (Raul has vacation this week.)
The trip was nice and Quiet!
I forgot how nice it is to have only 2 kids in the car with a big age difference between them as well. No fighting!
We had a long list to go through, because i wanted some storage furniture for Robin's room as well as a desk for her. (i hopes of containing the mess).
The big question always is though, "will it fit in the car"? Our dear ol' Mazda had never failed us yet cargo wise. We've crammed in 8 pieces of luggage, extra car seats, strollers and 3 kids in before after coming back from Holland. No one thought we could fit it, but we did it. (with some sacrifices in comfort though) We've brought home dressers, beds, bookcases, you name it.
Never a king size bed though.
Miraculously , we managed to fit everything in the car quite easily (with me having leg room to spare). The head/foot board had to go on the roof though. It was raining so we got a tarp as well. And, it fit again!
The ride back got a bit nerve wrecking though, since it got really windy and the tarp kept flapping. I had visions of my long dear bed, breaking to pieces on the highway, but it was all good and we made it home. Now our bedroom looks like a real grown up bedroom! Yay!
Now all there's left is a bit more painting, hopefully next week, and out bedroom might finally be finished!
