In all craziness these days I totally forgot to mention we went to the lake last week. It was a last minute thing. See, we thought at first it would be warm, so we'd go to the beach. But, it turned out to seem rather chilly by the coast, so we did groceries instead. (hooray, the excitement!). After we came home, it had gotten so hot, we felt cheated on by the weather folk.
We were all bummed since we could have been at the beach. So I figured, why not, let's just go to the lake anyway, it's never too late! After convincing kel, off went. We packed some charcoal and Dogs so we could have a bit of a cookout.
We had a great time! We hung out late, after most people left, watched the kids chase each other with bucketsful of water around the beach, as we had some wine in our starbucks cups. (no no coffee). The cups I got us as an anniversary gift. Since all our important life decisions were pretty much made in Starbucks, and we needed some travel cups, i figured it would be nice, so we can share many more happy married years hanging out with our cups. ;-)
The kids caught salamanders and tiny fish. Some fish died, and Robin almost took a dead fish home because she thought it was cute and it should be her pet. :-D
So, lesson learned: it is never too late in the day to change it into a fun one!
